Microsoft Ventures team launched an IoT (internet of things) Smart Home Accelerator programme at their Seattle campus. The aim was to understand the working practices of early-stage companies in the IoT space.

Over a three-month period, the team studied six start-ups participating in the Accelerator program. Working with local market UX experts we observed and recorded the key stages of development for start-ups to turn hardware and software ideas into viable product offerings.
