The Challenge

Lupus is a complex and poorly understood condition. The client wanted to use 360 immersive technology to provide a new experience for audiences of what it is like to live with lupus.

Ethnography and 360 immersion

The story, shown on VR headsets, puts the viewer into the world of a young woman living with her young child. Viewers can experience how mind fog (forgetfulness, lack of lucidity), fatigue and flare-ups affect her physically and emotionally in a completely unique way.

The VR films were shown at the New Scientist Live exhibition at the ExCel centre in London, global health conferences in the USA and to journalists at high profile media events.
